Considering Thimble Event Insurance for your event insurance needs? The below Thimble Event Insurance review was part of a broader analysis of over a dozen insurers.
Overall our Thimble Event Insurance review gave Thimble a 4 out of 5 based on our analysis criteria found here.
What We Like About Thimble
- Appears to be priced hourly allowing coverage until 2am (however, see below downside)
- Great user experience and design
- Great pricing*, especially for smaller groups
- Ability to purchase a policy starting “now”
What We Didn’t Like Thimble
- The hourly coverage doesn’t seem to make much of a price difference, but could open up the policyholder to unforeseen timing related risks like a ceremony starting early to accommodate weather or ending later due to a later start
- No obvious indication that host liquor liability coverage is included or even possible
- Can’t see the price until the “How many people are attending the event?” question
- Damage to rented premises limit of $100,000 with no options to upgrade/increase
- Claim of “4.7-star insurance trusted by 40,000 businesses.”
- The claim itself is fine, it’s just slightly deceiving because this includes all their insurance products, not just event insurance
Lowest Cost Available for Thimble Event Insurance
Admittedly, this was tough to determine based on the site design so we did our best:
$114*
*This is the price for 1 attendee. For 50 attendees it’s $124, for 100 attendees it’s $157, etc. so it appears the price is calculated per person starting at 1 attendee.
- $1M/$1M (occurrence/aggregate) GL
- $100,000 damage to rented premises
- Host liquor coverage: Unclear
- $5,000 medical expense limit
- Waiver of Subrogation endorsement: Included
- Primary Noncontributory endorsement: Included
